September 15-27 CGNN and ACN together organized Nepal Work Camp for CGNN members in Akita, Japan. 5 Members from CGNN visited Akita to learn more about envitonment. Durung the Work Camp they visited Recycle Center, Compost Centers, Organic Farm, Commercial School and gained more ideas about it and implement those ideas in thier country. They also visited different organizations to share their experience and culture.

CGNN celebrated its 3rd anniversary 15th may 2010 at DECC world trade centre having a celebration, honouring its members, press meet and cultural program. Best volunteer award, best trainee award, creative award and achievement awards were distributed to outstanding volunteers to encourage them and other members of the group. Many dance performances were presented by CGNN volunteers and AKN members.

CGNN Environmental Music Video

Music touches heart, mind and overall being, it has no barriers. Music has always been a very effective medium in terms of providing education and awareness regardless of the subject. Following the same path of music, CGNN has developing a song about environmental education to raise awareness about various environmental issues like global warming, climate change, pollution, and deforestation. The Nepali music scenario lacks songs with social messages especially environmental messages, so this song will help to spread awareness by incorporating news and facts about the environment in a musical way. This song ultimately has been developed into a music video, which indeed contributes to providing environmental education to the general public especially young people.

CGNN’s song “Hariyo Baan” was written by CGNN’s Environmental Ambassador and singer Ciney Gurung. The music video is caste by various celebrities Ciney Gurung, Nirnaya Da NSK, Sugarika KC, Thendup Sherpa and volunteers of CGNN. The concept of music video lies in providing education and awareness about various environmental issues through the presence of assorted personalities along with real footages of environment related events and happenings.

Production of the music video was supported by ICIMOD. The video will be broadcast on national television in Nepal and the DVD will be distributed in Nepal and elsewhere.
