Founded in May 2007, CGNN- Children for a Green New Nepal is a non-profit organization of young and aspiring youth with a vision of raising awareness about environmental issues among school children and local communities in Nepal. With a total of 25 members and 125 volunteers, CGNN runs entirely by the support of National and International volunteers. CGNN is striving for environmental awareness through the direct involvement of school students and local communities in order to encourage societies to conserve the environment around them. The organization has conducted various activities like street dramas, school presentations, trash collection events, t-shirt decoration, tree plantations and many more. Currently, CGNN is working with various schools inside and outside of valley to educate students about current environmental issues and mobilizing them to safeguard environment at school and local levels. It’s forwarding its endeavours for protecting environment through various programs, trainings, behaviour communication and student involvement thereby contributing in achieving National goal of environment protection and conservation.

CGNN has appointed Singer Ciney Gurung as Environment Ambassadors and Singer Nirnaya Shrestha and Dawa Thendup Sherpa as Honorary Member.
